Several reports from Afghanistan say the last U.S. planes have left Kabul airport. The deadline to leave was Tuesday. It is now just after midnight Tuesday in Kabul.

“Taliban commander: last US military planes – four in all – have departed from Kabul airport – airport is now under Taliban control”

Translation: “Now congratulations to you. The last American plane has also left.”

“A few minutes ago, five or six planes took off from Kabul Airport. According to sources, it seems that the Americans have completely evacuated the airport.”

“JUST IN – Three C-17 Globemasters have left #Kabul airport just before midnight local time. All U.S. troops have been withdrawn from Afghanistan now, according to unconfirmed reports.”

UPDATE: An account claiming to be official Taliban, “Moments ago, all the occupiers withdrew from Kabul airport, ending the nearly 2 decades of occupation. Congratulations to all Afghans and Muslim on this great victory and freedom from the shackles of foreign occupation.”
